John Clifton “Jack” Bogle, industry innovator and founder of The Vanguard Group of Investment Companies, died at home on January 16, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was 89 years old.
Jack Bogle was a bona fide investment industry giant, pioneering provocative and enduring investing ideas such as passive investing and index funds, and championed both transparency and low costs for his investors.
Innovator, author, philanthropist and family man, Jack Bogle touched millions of lives, and while he will be greatly missed he will always be remembered as a gentleman and man of character.
